
The Upper Makefield Fire Company collected donations from the residents of Upper Makefield and the surrounding area to give to the Uniformed Firefighters Assoc. - Widows & Children's Fund for the Fallen Firefighters of F.D.N.Y. on September 11th, 2001.
The Fire Company started to accept donations on September 29th, 2001
at the Upper Makefield Heritage Day
picnic. Donations were also accepted at the
Golf Outing, the Fire Prevention Open House and by Mail.
As of this date (1/15/02), donations have totaled $15,500
A check for this amount was delivered to the F.D.N.Y. on
February 27th, 2002.
The check was presented to the President of the UFA at the Firehouse of
Engine 281 and Ladder 147 on Cortelyou Road in Brooklyn, NY.
