HEALTH:
Cleanup activities - People involved should have up to date Tetanus & Hepatitis-B immunizations. Be careful not to expose any open cuts, scrapes or wounds to flood waters. People involved should was thoroughly after working in flood waters.
PECO will be inspecting all flooded home's electric service which has been flooded. If your meter is pulled, you must contact an electrician to make the necessary repairs. A list of 24-hour electricians follows this message as a courtesy.
Inform your electrician upon completing the electrical repairs to contact a third-party electrical underwriter inspector to examine the internal electrical system and affix a certification seal on the meter panel verifying the safety. PECO then will re-energize the electric service upon notification.
You may call PECO at the Customer Service number, 1-800-841-4141. Make sure you have the sticker from your underwriter so the PECO Technician can reinstall your meter.

DO NOT DRINK WELL WATER UNTIL IT HAS BEEN TESTED!
The Bucks County Health Department has issued the following information regarding mandatory water testing and/or septic testing for flooded homes.
County Health Department does not regulate private wells for homeowners, only restaurants. Recommendation to homeowners is that they chlorinate their wells by pouring one gallon unscented bleach into the well, opening all faucets until they smell bleach and then turning off faucets for 4 hours. Homeowners can take a test after water is chlorinated.
If wells are underground and cannot be chlorinated, the recommendation is that the homeowner flush the well system by turning on all faucets and run the water until it is clear; then the homeowner can sample their well.
Recommendation is that the homeowner not drink their water until the well has been tested.
If there is a doubt as to whether your septic system is malfunctioning, please call your private hauler to conduct an inspection. A list of septic haulers is as follows:

HEATING SYSTEMS:
If your heating system was underwater, it should be thoroughly cleaned & tested by a qualified service technician prior to reactivation. If you have oil heat, remember to have your fuel tank tested for integrity & water contamination of your fuel.
