Upper Makefield Fire Company
Live Fire Training - January 2005
The Upper Makefield Fire Company had a House donated to them for the purpose of Live Fire Training. The house was a 2-story colonial style house, approx 3700 square ft. The house had 6 bedrooms upstairs, a living room, dining room, den & full size kitchen, breeze-way, 3-car garage on the 1st floor and a basement that went 3/4's under the main residence. The Upper Makefield Fire Company working with surrounding mutual aid Fire Companies held live burn drills in the structure. These burns were over scene by Pa. State & Bucks County Instructors and Safety Officers. Participation during the drills included mutual aid companies, area RIT teams, Air Cascade Units & Tankers, along with the support of Canteen 4 (Trevose FD) and EMS by Newtown American Legion Ambulance Squad. During the first 2 days of Live Fire Training, we were able to accomplish 20 burns using only the 2nd floor of the house. A full list of Fire Companies who participated are on these 2 days are listed below.
